I love a good pun although I can’t take credit for that one!

So, day three of training with my new Guide Dog… and there has been a slight change of plan. The usual hotel training environment didn’t suit the little pup in training, also I was nervous being away from home for such an extended time. So I’ve come home.

The decision was fully mine and I am still continuing training at home. As I write this, I am on the sofa at home, little pup is getting used to his new surroundings. It’s all very overwhelming at the moment.

Little pup and me have been very busy over the first 3 days though. We have talked through the various bits of paperwork, had some orientation around the hotel, most importantly to the dogs toileting area!

We have done two VERY successful harness walks, practised stairs and managed to manoeuvre our way around obstacles, all topped off with a lovely long free run.   Training re-commences tomorrow with some of my regular routes.

I forgot just how much hard work it is at the beginning of a partnership, me and little pup are both exhausted!

Photo shows the back of little pups head, he is a small slightly ginger coloured dog, hes resting slightly on my leg. I’m gently stroking his head. I’m wearing a white knitted jumper and brown tartan trousers
