The following day was the last full day in France. We went to Land and Monkeys again for vegan pastry.

This day was going to be busy so once we finished we had to go straight over to the meeting point for our guided tour of The palace of Versailles. We actually arrived a little early and so went to a little café nearby. It was a small quirky café and we had just enough time for a quick cup of tea.

The coach journey over to the palace was fine. There wasn’t much to see until we got to the town of Versailles. It seemed a nice place. Yay try by try

Then we pulled up to the Palace and got introduced to our tour guide. She immediately took note of me and said she would describe everything and that if I wanted more description to ask. But honestly I didn’t need to. She did a great job. I’m so glad that we booked a tour like that because we learned so much about French history that we wouldn’t have known about otherwise. She made the tour so interesting, and was very friendly. It can make or break the experience. So we were very lucky.

There was one member of our group who kept stepping over my cane which really annoyed me. It is just so rude!

After the tour we got a macaroon from the small cafe and sat down. It was a much needed sit down too.

Soon enough we were on the coach back to Paris.

It was gone 5 pm when we arrived and so there wasn’t much left of the day. We managed to fit in a visit to a vegan supermarket that we had wanted to visit, picking up several varieties of previously unseen vegan cheese, and then a trip to a vegan burger bar For our final evening meal.

We were both very tired by this point so just walked back to the hotel where we packed most of our things and got an early night.

L

anded Monkeys was our stop for breakfast again. Once we had done that though, that was it really. Time to walk from the hotel to the train station.

Yet again, despite not having assistance, the assistance team wiz us through with no issues. Which on reflection was a good thing. It was incredibly busy and people were pushing a lot.

And that’s it, that was my trip to Paris.

At some point I will write a blog post about the accessibility of Paris as a city to travel to if you are blind. But that’s my travels. i’m glad that I proved to myself that I could do it.

I took all the precautions that I would need to do. Pack extra medication, packed my emergency injection kit and some cards that translated my medical information if I needed it.

But I didn’t and now I know I can do it. I wonder where I will go next. 😬
