I am not watching big brother, but it’s clear that lot of people do.

I’ve been noticing something that’s a talking point for many people, and that is Trisha, and her cancer diagnosis.

What I’ve seen is many people saying that “all she talks about” is her having cancer.

People are saying it in a negative way.

But here’s the thing. When you have cancer it does consume your entire life. It seeps into every moment and, even on your best day is still there to darken your door at the end of it.

Trisha has been living with this for 10 years. So of course she has talks about it, it has been all she’s known.

Furthermore, she wants to start an open conversation. A conversation that will hopefully encourage other women to check their breasts, and seek help if they think something is wrong. To prevent another woman going through what she has had to go through.

It always astounds me, the lack of understanding, care and kindness amongst the general public. I shouldn’t be surprised, but I am.

I don’t have much more to add. Nothing that those kinds of people who say those things will actually listen to.

But just know that every moment of every day, a cancer patients cancer is there with them. Just be grateful that you are able to complain about Trisha talking about her cancer. Because that means it obviously doesn’t affect you.

One response to “Just a thought”

  1. Those who have made such ignorant comments about Tricia wouldn’t be saying such things if they were going through what Tricia and other cancers sufferers like yourself have to cope with.
